The Nebuta Museum

Yesterday, before going to the party, after working half day, I went to the Nebuta Museum. Nebuta is one of the famous festivals in Japan. Every year they celebrate it on the month of August here in Aomori. Nebuta is like the iconic image of Aomori City. It’s really a big event, they say they are expecting at least 1 million people attending the event. They are preparing for it I think since last year. šŸ™‚

You can check out this site that I found in the internet for more info…

Near the ACAC is the Nebuta Museum, where they keep the previous floats used in the festival. It was really an amazing sight. The lanterns are very beautiful and very big. One of the fun part of the museum is that they teach visitors how to do the Nebuta Dance. šŸ™‚

Nebuta Museum is I think a 15 to 20minutes walk from ACAC, depends on your pace. But there are always vending machines on the streets just in case you get thirsty. Aside from the Vending machines, one of the most amazing site (well at least for me) is the apple farm. It was also my first time to see an apple tree and get to see an unriped apple. šŸ™‚ I will be definitely going back there to see how it would look when it grows more. šŸ™‚

By the first week of August, Aomori will have a very festive mood. I am looking forward to participate on this event. šŸ™‚

As the song goes for the Nebuta Dance, as I hear it… “Rasera! Rasera! Rase-Rase-Rasera!”
